As part of the program's activities, we may go on outings. We may go on weekly field trips outside of the neighborhood. You will be notified of these field trips, and separate permission forms will be sent home to be signed and returned.

For your child's safety, please designate the individuals that have your permission to pick up your child from the program. Our staff will NOT allow your child to leave the premises with any other individual, unless they are indicated on the list.

Dunn PAL Contract

 

     This document will present the procedures for disciplining student behaviors at the Dunn Police Athletic & Activities League.  We are committed to academic success for every student.  Here at Dunn PAL, we expect that each student will respect staff members, volunteers, and other students always.  Students that disrupt the operation of Dunn PAL, interfere with the rights of others; damage to PAL property or individual property will be held accountable for that behavior, (see PAL rules).

 

     Any staff member who witnesses inappropriate behavior has the obligation and responsibility to implement this system.  Any parent volunteer witnessing any inappropriate behavior will notify a staff member so disciplinary action, if warranted, can be taken.

 

Appropriate student dress and grooming are crucial factors in the safe and orderly operation of the program.  Each student's appearance should reflect a positive image of the school and contribute to a distraction-free learning environment.  Students are not to wear clothing that is loose, sagging, cut, torn, baggy, revealing, spaghetti- strap, backless, low cut or short.

 

Pants-  must be worn at the waist or upper hip and must not reveal underclothing.

 

Shorts and Skirts- must be fitted at the waist or upper hip, must not reveal underclothing, and must be mid- thigh in length or longer.

 

Tops (Shirts and Blouses)- must not reveal underclothing, midsection, torso, back, chest, breasts, or cleavage.

 

Dresses- must not reveal underclothing, midsection, torso, back, chest, breasts, or cleavage and must be mid- thigh in length or longer.

 

Shoes- must not distract from, interfere with the learning enviroment, or present a safety or health hazard.  Tennis shoes or closed- toe shoes are preferred.  House shoes/ house slippers of any kind are not allowed.

 

Head Coverings- no type of head covering is to be worn in the facility at any time unless otherwise told by a higher authority. 

 

Underclothing- must wear apropriate underclothing.

Pajamas/ loungewear-  all pajamas/ loungewear are prohibited.

 

Jewelry/ Piercings-  Noisy, distracting, and excessive jewelry or accessories are prohibited.  Jewelry/ Piercings must not distract from, interfere with the learning environment, or present a safety or health hazard.

 

Tattoos- permanent or temporary must not become a distraction or student will be told to cover them.

 

     Dunn PAL weapon policy is strongly enforced.  A "weapon" means any object, device, or instrument, designed as a weapon or through it's use is capable of threatening or producing bodily harm or which may be used to inflict self- injury.  Any persons found with weapons on PAL property will be turned over to the Dunn Police Department.

 

     Here at Dunn PAL, we are dedicated to excellence as well as education.  If your child is enrolled in the Afterschool/ Summer Program, your child is expected to participate in the program activities for at least one hour or longer each day depending on the activity(s) in the class to include participating in enrichment programs offered.  Each student will be regulary evaluated and is expected to meet certain requirements set by his/ her instructor.  Also, each participant in the Dunn PAL After School program MUST participate in at least one Enrichment program, (Art, Media Arts, Robotics, Athletics, etc).

 

     Satisfactory attendance and participation in practice is necessary.  Failure to comply with the rules and requlations of this program could result in your child being dismissed from the program. Three unexcused absences will be immediate termination from the program. 

 

     Here at Dunn PAL, students' safety is our main concern.  Any person that is not on the Pickup/ Emergency Contact list must have a note from the parent/ guardian on this application to pick up a student.  The note must include: the sudent's name, date & time of pick up, a contact number to reach the Parent/ Guardian will be required should we have any concerns, and the note must be signed by the parent/ guardian giving permission.  A valid photo ID from the person is required to pick up the student.  If we do not have this, the person will be considered unauthorized and will not be allowed to pick up the student.

     Each parent of a member will be required to successfully participate in a MINIMUM of 4 Volunteer hours each month to directly benefit the Dunn Police Athletic and Activities League in it's programs and fundraisers and/ or the local school your child attends.

 

     The After School/ Summer Program will have a MANDATORY ONE- HOUR PARENT MEETING ON A PREDETERMINED THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 6:00 PM and location to be announced.  Attendance at this meeting counts toward the 4 hours a month, also PTA meetings at your child's school you attend will count.  Failure to meet the required 4 hours wich includes the mandatory parent meeting each month could terminate your child immediately without warning.

     I hereby give my child permission to use the Dunn Police Athletic and Activities League computers for Email and/ or Internet in compliance with Title XIII Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998.

 

     By signing this sheet, you acknowledge that you are fully aware of every rule and/ or violation that is in this contract.  These rules will be strictly enforced.
